Black Jack Betty and Johnny Bhive Rock the Chapin Theatre

If you weren't there, you missed another awesome show by Dave, Ray, Joe and Kato as they backed up Johnny Bhive last night as part of the Long Island Rocks for freedom concert. The concert was broadcast via the Internet to our troops in the Middle East, so that in itself was pretty awesome.

4 bands, plus acoustic Blake Ian, rocked from 7 until about 10:30. While all the bands were pretty good with some great original material, the boys from Black Jack Betty easily put on the better show, both visually and musically. All 4 were in great form as they backed Johnny Bhive.

Stay tuned for additional shows.

Hope to see you all tonight - Coach

Cleveland Rocks

Coach, Imodium Man (aka Johnny Mein) and Frankie the Kid (aka Bandiero) rocked Cleveland with Mrs Timms (aka my brother Tim) Aug 10, 11 and 12. The weekend started off rough, with cancelled flights, fights at Dave's Tavern and an 8 hour Greyhound to Cleveland, but the boys persevered.

A quick shower for coach (Frankie the Kid and Imodium Man "showered" in the pool) and we were off to the Hairy Buffalo (aka Harry Buffalo's) for wings and beers. Of course, we first had to search for the missing Hooters along the Flats.

On to the game with great seats in the right field stands and a win by the Yanks over the Tribe at the Jake. Then on to the Batter's Eye for post game drinks and a final run at the House of Blues

Sunday saw us at Flanagan's for steak sandwiches and a few bloodies for breakfast. We knew Sunday was going well when our waitress introduced herself as Olga (complete with Russian accent) and said she would be "servicing us". I was looking for Moose and Squirrel, but was more concerned with getting my Bloodys and then Whiskey and Cookies. More beers boys???

Sundays games was a blast ($25 ticket and we sat behind the 3rd base dugout), as Mrs Timms and Frankie the Kid rehydrated with Gatorade and Imodium Man and Coach "rehydrated" with 24 oz Miller Lites.

More beers at the airport (and two rowdies actually smuggled beers on the plan) and an uneventful flight home, except for the kid who screamed for 45 minutes straight.

Can't wait for next year and Baltimore!!!

Good times my friends.

Tailgaters Primed for Playoff Run

With their playoff life on the line, the Tailgaters ended the season with 3 straight wins to finish 11-8-1.

After a game one loss to the Ergo Kings in the first round of the playoffs, the boys found themselves down 10-1. But the Jameson Juice kicked in and the boys exploded for 9 runs en route to victory.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday night, field to be determined.
